In the heart of a sunny area, where the harmony between the rural environment and modern comforts come together to create a unique rural tourism experience, welcome to Casas da Luz!
This development is an oasis of tranquillity, situated in a stunning setting that offers spectacular views of the sea and the majestic surrounding mountains.
It is estimated that the main house of this development was built in the 19th century, around 1880, and was rebuilt in 1934. In the 1970s, the house was bought by Agostinha da Luz and three generations of this family have grown up there. It was in honour of this matriarch that Casas da Luz was named. Between 2020 and 2023, this space of memories and tradition, made up of the main house and annex buildings, underwent renovation and expansion work, with special care taken to preserve the various elements that characterise traditional Madeiran houses, including the stone walls and the wine press, where wine is still produced every year. Divided into three cosy units, each designed to provide maximum comfort and privacy: the Casa da Mãe, split over two floors, offers three spacious bedrooms; the Casa da Latada located on the upper floor consists of two bedrooms and the Cassa da Pedreira, located on the ground floor, has a large bedroom.
In Casa da Pedreira, a cosy one-bedroom house, you'll find the stone walls of the old structure, with an open-plan kitchen and living room. The accommodation has a bedroom with a double bed and a private bathroom. You'll also find an indoor seating area where you can relax and read a book.
This house is a haven for moments as a couple, due to its privacy and practicality.
You'll be presented with an infinity pool, the perfect place to relax, cool off and enjoy a relaxing dip while taking in the breathtaking views that only Casas da Luz can offer!
For culinary enthusiasts, we offer a small plantation of vegetables and fruit trees to make your meals that much more special. Make yourself at home and pick the freshest, healthiest and most seasonal produce and incorporate it into your recipes.
Your days will get off to the best possible start with our tasty daily breakfast of lovingly prepared local produce!
To ensure your comfort during your stay with us, we provide a regular cleaning service in each accommodation.
In addition, all our common areas will be cleaned daily, providing you with an immaculate and pleasant environment.
